  1. Get your Rubiic token

    Sign in to your Rubiic account, find API tokens, and create a token for Cursor. Copy it when it is shown. You’ll need account access and credits or an active subscription to create videos.

  2. Add Rubiic to Cursor

    Open your global MCP configuration at ~/.cursor/mcp.json. Merge this entry into mcpServers and replace YOUR_RUBIIC_TOKEN with your token. Keep this personal configuration out of your repository.

  3. Check the connection

    Open Cursor's MCP settings, enable rubiic, and check that its tools appear. Start an Agent chat and try the connection check below.

    Listing projects does not generate media. Creating or rendering a video uses your Rubiic credits. You can revoke this token from your account at any time.

What is MCP?

The Model Context Protocol lets an AI app use tools from another service. Connecting Rubiic gives your coding agent tools to start video projects, check progress, and request renders and downloads. Rubiic does the video work in the cloud.

Do I need to install a video editor?

No. Use your existing coding app to send a brief and steer the work. Rubiic authors the scenes and handles rendering. You can also review your projects on the Rubiic website.

Can I connect the Claude app instead?

Yes. In Claude’s connector settings, add a custom connector with the server URL above. Follow the sign-in and consent flow with your Rubiic account. You can manage and disconnect connected apps from your Rubiic account page.

How is usage charged?

Video creation and rendering use your Rubiic credits, just as they do on the website. Your coding app’s own subscription or model usage is separate. Check Rubiic’s pricing page for the current plans and credit packs.

The connection isn’t working. What should I check?

Use https://rubiic.com/api/mcp and check that your token has not been revoked. Replace the placeholder with the token exactly, keeping the Bearer prefix. In VS Code, enter the token when prompted. Save your configuration and restart the connection. Your Rubiic account also needs access and credits or an active subscription. Check your app’s MCP server logs for the error.
